This series comprises minutes of the Sisters'/Deaconess Council of the Deaconess Community of the Lutheran Church in America (LCA). In addition it also includes a limited number of minutes from standing committees of the council. These records date from 1966-1978 and comprise written records of items considered by and action taken by the council. In general, these minutes recorded committee and community leadership reports presented, personnel changes, anniversaries, directing sister's activities, resignations, illnesses, deaths, various committee reports, discussion on topics related to future of diaconate, upcoming events, investitures, consecrations, updates regarding education program and deaconess students. In this series there are no minutes for 1977. It is not recorded anywhere whether or not there were any council meetings that year, but these copies of minutes were the only ones in the Deaconess Community Archives at Gladwyne.
